Roman by birth
and Florentine by adoption,
Simone Massoni (1977)
is a visual artist who lives
immersed in everything
that stimulates his eyes.
He began his career as an illustrator of children’s books before turning his experimental attention to fashion and editorial illustration.
Pencil drawing, oil paintings, books and lino carvings; his studio is a kaleidoscope of shapes and colours, just like the man himself. This is because Simone’s talent is a multifaceted one that encompasses and assimilates a myriad of different stimuli, before reinterpreting them through his analytical and often unsettling gaze.
He is happy to spend hours telling you about his work. He does so without sparing himself, with the same generosity with which he lives every aspect of life.
But as you are carried away by his unconditional devotion to art your eye falls on the Rubik’s cube he is playing with: here is the detail betraying a restlessness that – ultimately – is the true engine of his experimentation.
Based in Florence,
Simone Massoni produces
art that tours the world
in exhibitions, publications,
books and installations.
