Francesco Poroli
He is an illustrator and freelance art director.
But first and foremost he is the proud father of Riccardo and Beatrice..
Illustrator, art director,
freelance graphic designer:
Francesco Poroli is
all of these, but…
above all he likes to be known as a proud father of his two children, Riccardo and Beatrice.
Separating his art from his private life is impossible: both are rich in anecdotes and hidden details that you discover only a little at a time.
But what process leads to the curves and the polygons of his drawings?
The first stage is a freehand sketch, followed by the computer. There is no graphic tablet: Francesco prefers to use a mouse, restricting the use of Illustrator to a few simple commands.
The result is his unmistakable “flat” illustrations, created with arrays of primitive geometric shapes.
Francesco works in Milan,
the city where he was born
in 1975 and where he lives
with his lovely family
Since starting out as an illustrator in 2000 he has been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Wired, GQ, Il Sole24 Ore, La Repubblica and Style Corriere della Sera.
His customers include Google, Reebok, NBA, Red Bull and McDonald’s. He has taken part in group exhibitions in Milan, Vicenza, Rome, New York and London.
